I’m Mrs. Tucker and this is my first year at Century, but far from my first year in education. I am completing my 29th year in education. The past 14 years here in Aurora Public Schools. The past ten years I was the leader at another Aurora Elementary School. I wanted to come back into the classroom to ground myself in the hard work that teachers do on a daily basis. I have learned a lot coming back into the classroom and have a greater appreciation for the work teachers do daily. I am a mother of three beautiful daughters that have given me 5 even more beautiful grandchildren that I love spending time with as much as possible. I look forward to what the future will bring our way.
My name is Mr. Emmerson and I teach third grade. This is my 5th year of teaching in Aurora Public Schools and my 3rd year at Century Elementary. I attended Gonzaga University for my undergraduate degree and received my teaching degree from the University of Northern Colorado. In my free time, I enjoy playing and watching sports of any kind. At Century, I run ski club and athletics club. I love watching the students learn and enjoy things they love. In our school, we have lots of movement, which is something that I enjoy the most about our school. For example, students move throughout the halls to exercise their bodies and minds before calming down in the Zen Hallways. We also have days of whole school movement where the whole school comes together and does laps and other physical activities. It is not only a bonding moment for students of all grade levels to come together but a time where the students demonstrate our values of safety, compassion, mindfulness, and empowerment.
