Welcome to Century Elementary
Dear Century Parents and Students,
Welcome to the 2010- 2011 school year at Century where the Eagles will soar "world class" excellence! Our school theme for this year is, "Century eagles soaring in world class excellence: "We are the world"; and, we have worlds of fun and learning activities planned for you and your child. The Century staff is once again committed to empowering our students to achieve socially and academically in a safe environment in which diversity is accepted and taught through experiential learning, high expectations, and community partnerships. It is our greatest honor that you have chosen to send your child(ren) to Century. We welcome your partnership with us as we strive for educational excellence. We invite you to become involved in our community accountability and events planning committees this year. Also, keep your eyes open for flyers and notices of events and family opportunities throughout the year.
Our school year will officially begin for first through fifth grade students on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010 at 8:55 AM. The bell will ring at 8:55 AM. And students will be considered tardy at 9:00 AM. It is also important to note that student supervision does not begin until 8:40 AM unless arrangements have been made with our before and after school program. Needless to say, students may not arrive to school before 8:40 AM!! Breakfast will be served daily at 8:40 AM. Our bells will ring at 8:55 AM, and our students will be dismissed at 3:25 PM. Our first day for Kindergarteners will be Aug. 11, 2010; and the first day for preschool will be Aug. 17, 2010. Please find our grade level school supply lists attached.
Happy New School year – We look forward to working with you and your child!
